HMS Victory - The HMS Victory was launched in 1765 as the flagship of the British fleet, under admirals Keppel, Howe, Hood, Sir John Jervis and, finally, Lord Nelson. It was under the orders of Nelson that this ship made history, at the Battle of Trafalgar (1805) in which the Spanish-French fleet was defeated and where he lost his life. In 1921 his mortal remains were taken to Portsmouth where a restoration program was commenced so that it can be admired today.
