Albatros 1840 BALTIMORE CLIPPER

ALBATROS – Built at the Baltimore shipyards in 1840, the Albatros was designed to defend our Atlantic coast. Her smooth, narrow hull and large sail area made her fast and easily maneuverable. Albatros Kit by Constructo uses laser cut wooden parts for traditional plank-on-bulkhead construction. Deck and hull planking, applied one strip at a time, duplicates original building techniques. Fittings include hardwood deadeyes and blocks, cast metal anchor, brass eyebolts and chain, several diameters of rigging line and sailcloth. Six brass cannon on walnut carriages sit on the main deck. Clear plans and clear illustrated instructions facilitate assembly. Wooden display stand and pedestals are also included.
